Marble
Being extremely beautiful and elegant, marble – a metamorphic rock rich in calcium carbonate, which is formed after the recrystallization of the limestone – is ideal for both interior and large-scale projects.
Over time, sculptors, including Michelangelo, Donatello and Gian Lorenzo Bernini, have chosen marble for creating some of the world-famous artworks.
Marble was widely used in ancient times for large-scale construction, decoration or remarkable sculptures. This natural stone was also preferred for building some of the seven wonders of the ancient world, such as Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, Temple of Artemis and the Lighthouse of Alexandria.
