Limestone

Limestone

Limestone is a sedimentary rock, composed of calcium carbonate, in the form of mineral calcite. Limestone may be white, gray or yellow, and it can form in marine waters, from the accumulation of shell, coral and algae, or it can be formed, as chemical sedimentary rock,  from the precipitation of calcium carbonate from the water of a lake or ocean.

Limestone is used as raw material in construction, but can also be used as a decorative element, not only in construction, but also in the ceramic and glass industry, and, moreover, it can be used as an artificial fertilizer for farmland.
